RIS Synergy establishes the foundation for an Austrian research portal, on the one hand by implementing standardised interfaces between Austrian funding organisations and universities, and on the other hand by undertaking a concept study. In this concept study, we compile potential target groups and contents of the portal, examine the lessons learned from previous projects and initiatives, and research similar implementations of national portals in an international context.

Based on the research on other national portals, we produced a screencast that presents seven portals in European countries and compares their individual features. The aim of the 15-minute video is to give a broad impression of how national or supra-regional research portals have been defined and implemented in other countries.

Based on this visual overview, the project will now continue setting up the foundation for an Austrian research portal.
