Successful start of the National RDM Exchange

National RDM Exchange: the Austria-wide network for research data management and related topics

The first meeting of the new Austria-wide network “National RDM Exchange” took place on 29 November. The event brought together more than 25 RDM-interested participants who are working together to share experiences and strategies in the field of Research Data Management (RDM) and similar subject areas. The initiative was developed as part of the national BMBWF project “Shared RDM Services & Infrastructure”.

The participants agreed that regular dialogue is important in order to learn from each other and develop solutions together. With this in mind, it was decided that these meetings should take place regularly in future. In addition, further topics were identified that the participants would like to discuss more intensively in the future.

The successful kick-off event demonstrates the growing interest and need for close cooperation in the field of research data management in Austria. The network aims to become an active community that works together to find solutions to the challenges of handling research data and thus makes an important contribution to the further development of the country’s scientific landscape.

The next meeting of the “National RDM Exchange” is planned for 24 January 2024 and will take place monthly. The meetings will take place online to enable broad participation. Interested parties can contact Birgit Söser (birgit.soeser@tugraz.at) for further information and to register.
