As part of the RIS Synergy subproject 2, a concept study on a national research portal for Austria was conducted and has now been published.
The concept study presents – in coordination with the needs of the Austrian research community – the framework conditions, visions and requirements for a potential national research portal.
Over a period of four years, the RIS Synergy team carried out comprehensive analyses, compared existing international research portals and examined past Austrian initiatives. Based on this, possible variants for the technical setting of a national research portal and its contents were developed. A wide range of stakeholders were involved in this process and their input was incorporated into the study, as were the internal expectations and needs of the project consortium.
The concept study concludes with the findings and requirements that are necessary to establish a national research portal in Austria.
