A RIS Synergy delegation presented project results at the EUNIS 2023 conference. These were now published in the article “RIS Synergy – Creating a Common Language Across Institutions: Lessons Learned and Challenges”.

The article analyzes how RIS Synergy utilizes effective communication strategies and a common nomenclature to implement shared services in a digitisation project and examines how different requirements, processes and vocabularies can be made compatible in a cross-institutional landscape. It further discusses how RIS Synergy uses international standards, such as persistent identifiers, to synergise CRIS systems across the Austrian research landscape. Finally, the article highlights the lessons learned, challenges and best practices in establishing a task force on public relations and communications for community-building and to raise awareness of the project and ensure its long-term nature.
