Content:

Research data in the social sciences often contains personal or sensitive information. Anonymization and pseudonymization play a central role in making this data usable in accordance with FAIR principles while complying with legal and ethical requirements.

The workshop provides a practical overview of methods and tools for secure data preparation—from planning in research design and appropriate consent to specific techniques for identity reduction. In addition, challenges, limitations, and best practices in dealing with qualitative and quantitative data will be highlighted. The aim is to support researchers in providing their data in a responsible and reusable manner.
